The vineyards of Washington State are very popular among wine enthusiasts. The Woodinville area alone is worth the detour, offering the opportunity to discover the best in high-quality production and, the cherry on top, make a stop at a gastronomic restaurant.
In King County around the small city of Woodinville, which has about 10,000 inhabitants, vineyards extend as far as the eye can see. Its magnificent hilly landscape is laden with a few historical buildings, yet another reason to roam the region.
You are cordially invited to tasting tours organised by producers. Of all of the vineyards, do not miss one of its oldest, Chateau Ste. Michelle, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Group visits depart daily from the Woodinville Visitor Center, three kilometres south of the city; you may also choose a customised itinerary by contacting the Woodinville Visitor Center directly.
