The San Lorenzo Market in Florence is located in the heart of the city, facing the basilica of the same name. Set up in a 19th-century building bustling with life, this trendy place develops a two-step concept: on the ground floor, you will mainly find clothes (new and thrift), as well as leather goods (handbags, belts, jackets…) and other traditional items. If you happen to be interested in bringing back a Florentine souvenir, it is recommended to bargain, according to local customs.
Under the majestic roof of the first floor, a food hall awaits your visit. You will have to choose (or not, depending on your hunger level!) among the twenty-something shops that encompass Italian cuisine in all its variety. Wine, cold cuts, truffle-based specialities and mozzarella, not mentioning pastries to be enjoyed on the spot or to go (some vacuum-packed goods may even be brought back!). A sample group like no other!
Closed on Sunday and Monday.
