Like most Zurich West district buildings, Rosso looks like nothing more than an old abandoned factory. But don't be fooled! Just steps from the Freitag Tower, Rosso is considered the best Italian restaurant in Zurich.
Although quite poorly indicated, the address is popular among locals and young people. In an unaltered industrial setting, the kitchen turns out great fish dishes, homemade pasta, and, especially, pizzas – with thin and crispy crusts topped with fresh ingredients.
Expect no dinner formalities: for instance, water is free and you can fill your pitcher as many times as you feel like. As for the wine list, it is mainly Italian, with some nice local choices too.
