Native, unrivalled locavore cocktails

In the heart of the Telok Ayer neighbourhood, very popular with food lovers, the Native bar prepares surprising cocktails from unusual regional ingredients.

Far from a globalised world, Native promotes local skills and products. In this cocktail bar located on restaurant-heavy Amoy Street, locavorism is key: rum is from Thailand, gin from Singapore, cinnamon from Sri Lanka… Like a true explorer, Vijay Mudaliar roams his region looking for new flavours, distils all kinds of ingredients and tries new recipes for his drinks.
The mixologist gives pride of place to his Singaporean roots and to the South Asian spirit, in his cocktails and in the decoration (that showcases frescoes by street artist Rajesh Kumar). The Pineapple Arrack is thus made of Ceylon Arrack, a Sri Lankan spirit, various forms of coconut (water, oil and shell), spices and a cinnamon-covered pineapple slice on top. Even more eccentric, the house signature drink, Antz, is based on sugar cane, coco yogurt, Jasmin flowers and… ants. Guaranteed originality!
