Located on the Place des Arts and an integral part of its complex, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) is at the heart of a culturally vibrant quarter. Inaugurated in 1964, the museum hosts contemporary art in the most general sense, in a style that is decidedly 'design'.
This ultramodern enclosure is the only one in the country to be dedicated exclusively to the art of today, featuring the full range of the contemporary art scene. While the museum is focused on Quebec and Canadian art, it is also open to the most iconic international artists.
Besides the permanent exhibition of more than7,000 works including paintings, films, and photographs, do not forget to visit the MAC for its temporary exhibitions: dance, experimental theatre, live music... Nocturnal openings are organised every Friday, with a DJ, live performances, and a bar for 'a night at the museum'.
