Le Petit Gourmand: small but great!

Le Petit Gourmand: small but great!

The quality-to-price ratio makes this one of the best addresses in the region.

The 'petit' here refers only to its size. The restaurant seats just 40 people, and another 12 on the terrace. You should therefore book beforehand. The chef produces seasonal market cuisine brilliantly. He adds a subtle touch of creativity that those with a refined palate will know how to appreciate.

Begin with fine slices of marinated beef, humous with fresh coriander, lemon confit and grilled sesame, or with the smoked trout in a warm brioche, poached egg and Beatrice butter spinach. Follow it with the hake with Basque oil, grilled courgettes and piquillo ice cream, pibale-style calamari with Iberic lomo and shellfish sauce, or crispy free-range pork belly with cherry tomatoes roasted in sauce, and persillade emulsion. And now, time has come for dessert. Take a trip down memory lane with French toast or rice pudding and salted milk caramel, and raspberry crème brûlée, sprinkled with blond sugar. To accompany this excellent meal, opt for a wine from the region. A definite must-go-to.
