A genuine institution in the Colombian capital since opening in 1998, the Gaira Café Cumbia House is always full. A restaurant, a bar, a concert hall, it is all of this at once, famous for its party atmosphere, its exuberant, constantly renewed playlist, and its bubbly decoration.
The idea for the place originated with the Colombian singer Carlos Vives and his brother Guillermo, and is prized by an eclectic Bogotano clientele, as well as passing visitors. It serves traditional cuisine and has an extensive cocktail menu with vintage notes as well as lighter drinks in a setting marked by a musical theme. It is the place to be on the weekend, when it is strongly recommended to reserve, because the Gaira is a festive place animated by the excellent house band, which improvises or revisits the classics. This address represents, more than almost anything, the renewal and dynamism of the city.
