Discover the forest of Ospedale

The forest is one of the characteristic landscapes of Corsica. Here, in the region of Porto-Vecchio, Ospedale is a high hilltop village named after a former hospital.

A mere 30 minutes by car from Porto-Vecchio, the pine forest that extends over the territory comprised by the village of Ospedale is undoubtedly enchanting. A lake and a waterfall round off this setting at 950 metres altitude.

A trail will take you to the beautiful Piscia di Gallu waterfall (count one hour), which is an impressive 60 metres high and well worth the short hike necessary to reach this piece of heaven.

Various species live here in complete harmony: wild sheep, cows, pigs… Hiking enthusiasts will appreciate the various trails available between pine forest and scrubland. The smells of the woods suddenly give way to the softness of the Mediterranean vegetation.

For the more resourceful, several rope trails have been installed in the forest trees for an unusual experience that is cool even in summer, and only a few kilometres from the beaches.
